New email design and custom newsletter feature

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

We all know how important is the newsletter for a daily deal site, being its major traffic driver and the main connecting link between the site and its subscribers. You might have already noticed our new eye-candy design of email template and have stumbled upon the Newsletters page in the Admin section. If not, these two newly rolled out features are definitely worth checking out.

Email template now has the logo of your site, date and time in the header and a link to "contact_us" form in the footer, which releases you from the necessity to buy mail@yoursite.com email address. Needless to say that all wording can be changed via Messages in Admin section. A top of that you can always check the newsletter before it has been sent out by using "Email preview" link available on a saved deal next to "Edit" and "Orders".

Spanish translation

Wednesday, August 17, 2011
Probably you already know that incredible flexibility of Getsocio platform lets you quickly and easily edit all the interface wording for users, including buttons, and also re-write the emails sent out by your site. This can be done using our Messages functionality, which also permits you to translate your site into any language.

For Spanish we went an extra mile and added a built-in translation. So now it takes no time to get your site in Spanish. You only need to turn on Spanish language in Admin section and have a Spanish version of your site instantly.

You can run your site in Spanish by making English language invisible or keep it bi-lingual if you choose. Don't forget how flexible Getsocio is: you can still edit all Spanish text to make it more expressive or tailor it to a specific model of your site. All that will let you dive into hispanic market and broaden your audience.

Go ahead and give it a try, let us know if you have any thoughts.
¡Buenaventura!

Multiple option deals

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Giving several options to your buyer to choose from is generally a good idea, provided the number of options is not overwhelming. It makes people feel "in control" and leaves more satisfaction after the purchase.

Often several options come naturally with the deal. For example, the kind of haircut (man, woman, child), the color of iPad (black/white), the date of the event (out of the, say, five available dates), the size of a t-shirt (L, XL, XXL), and so on.

And with Getsocio recently added "Products" feature each deal can have one or many products.

More customization for categories and locations

Friday, June 3, 2011

Two weeks ago we have added the categories functionality helping to systemize the deals for users not to get lost in the variety of deals offered. A couple of days back we added two customization options for categories to make user experience even more comprehensive: categories can be shown on the side bar, letting users to switch between the categories with one click without a need to scroll back to the top and click the drop-down menu, and in the tree view, with "child" categories shown beneath the "parent" one.
