Referral program update

Thursday, May 19, 2011

A referral program is a way to increase sales of an e-commerce site by sharing a fraction of profits with users who send you more buyers.

Each registered user gets their own "referral link" to share with their friends. When someone clicks that link, the referrer ID is stored in a cookie on the referred person browser, and when they make their first purchase (and the deal is tipped), the referrer gets their bonus paid.

Multi-language support is available

Thursday, April 21, 2011

From now on Getsocio supports multi-language sites.

You can run a bilingual daily-deal site, or a trilingual site, or, well, a site with several languages. This feature is unlocked on "Locales" page in Admin section. Each locale maintains independent list of all pieces of text ("messages") on the site.

The language is auto-detected (using visitor's browser preference), and also visitors can change language in one click. Language selection links are shown at the top-right corner of the page, but only for sites with more than one language enabled.

New Settings page

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

We added new "Settings" page to admin section. It is going to replace "Site preferences" and few other pages.

The "Settings" page provides streamlined and concise view of all the configuration options. And it looks much nicer than old one.

Enjoy!

Purchase count

Friday, April 8, 2011

For deals without tipping point the "Purchase count" block is now optional and can be hidden. See the "Show purchase count" checkbox on the deal form.

So now it is possible to selectively hide or show how many items are sold for each deal.
