The Affiliate Program
You have taken the time to build your site and now you're up and running. You have some customers and your purchases are growing. Now you are looking at ways to grow your customer base faster. Word of mouth has worked well so far but you want to push it to the next level. How can your get more people to your site to buy your deals?
The Affiliate Program, is a great way to help with your marketing.
What is an Affiliate Program?
The Affiliate Program is an arrangement between you as the merchant and another person as the affiliate and they will be able to advertise your site on their site, blog or other places to help attract new customers.
How does it work?
You make an agreement with an affiliate and they add a link onto their website directing potential customers to yours. With the use of widgets and tracking codes you are able to modify and adjust multiple aspects of your program. If the customer purchases something from your site you will pay a small commission on the sale to your affiliate. You decide the commission structure. This could be a fixed amount for purchases, registrations and/or subscriptions or it could be a percentage of sales between 2 to 8%. This is a benefit to both you and the affiliate as well as your clients. Now instead of just your site and marketing strength you have others promoting you too. More exposure means more business.
